17th Athens Xclusive Designers Week
Unique creations by 31 Greek designers and international fashion brands, 3 winners at the New Designers Awards and
glamorous guests
With 31 established Greek designers and international fashion brands, 12 promising new designers, impressive catwalks, glamorous guests, creativity, talent and style, 17th Athens Xclusive Designers Week was completed, at the Ethniki Asfalistiki Conference Center. The attendance of the public was remarkable and the interest in the new fashion trends of the collections presented on the catwalk of the AXDW, intense.
Eleni Kyriacou presented the F/W collection 2015-16, which is inspired by the unexpected archaeological discoveries in Amphipolis. Dr. Linda Papadopoulos, World Esteemed Phychologist and Eleftheria Gkoufa from the Department of Historical Archives & Manuscripts - Benaki Museum participated as guests in her fashion show.
The international fashion brand Marks & Spencer presented its new collection with unexpected combinations of textures and patterns inspired by the modern women, creating a "thoroughly sloppy" elegance which highlighted their unique and special style.
The one and only Makis Tselios presented the "Embrace Couture" for men and women in which the main colors were red, white, pink and black. This special luxury which characterizes his creations amazed the visitors who attended at his show for one more time.
The Fashion House Kathy Heyndels presented haute couture creations, which maintained simple lines and the color palette included pastel and bright shades, highlighting the femininity of every woman who chooses them. Ioanna Lili was the guest model In the presentation of the Fashion House Kathy Heyndels.
Athina Korda presented the F/W 2015-16 collection which is entitled "ANTITHESIS", in total black. During the fashion show, a happening for Fashion Revolution took place, which is a global institution about the origin of the materials and the conditions under which our clothes are produced.
The absolute style setter fashion brand Topshop by Sotris, presented a series of youth, women and men clothes in bright colors and floral prints.
GAP, presented the spring collection for 2015 and the new Resolution denim. The Revolution denim is extremely soft and comfortable denim, from elastic fabric for a flattering implement. The collection also included, fits Mid-rise Skinny, High-rise Skinny, Slim Straight denims, stylish Bomber jackets in different colors, etc.
Miltos proposed to us "SIMPLICITY" for this season. He presented elegant creations that maintain their timelessness and highlight the femininity of every woman, and impressive wedding dresses. The one and only Vicky Koulianou opened the show.
Mouton coats with perforated leather and digital prints and dresses of the same technique in earthy shades included in the collection which was presented by Panos Apergis. The subversive designs in combination with fringes, leather and neoprene fabric gave an ethnic aspect to the creations of Greek designer. Vasiliki Papadopoulou, wife of actor Nick Anadiotis, participated in the fashion show.
Tassos Mitropoulos presented the S/S 2015-16 collection which is titled "LITOS VIOS" (FRUGAL LIFE), with creations that flirted with luxurious femininity, in slim fit and graceful lines. The presentation of the collection was completed with unique wedding dresses for every type of woman.
Controversial Konstantinos Mitrovgenis, presented his collection which was inspired by the mathematical constant π 3,14. He presented eccentric creations in black and white with blue details. The presentation ended with the impressive white 3D bust which engrossed the guests. John Spaliaras, Kostas Grekas and Constantine Koutsomichos participated in the presentation as guest models.
In addition, 12 new talents "dressed" the next winter with their own suggestions: Fotini Baka, Leon, Aris Antoniou, Maison Anna Dorothea, Dimitrios Ordoulidis, Tryfonas Modestou, MK by Marios, Georgia Margariti, Dimale, Chris & Tonia, Euphrosyne Vlassi and Aziina. The young artists showed their promising collections impressing the audience and the jury of the institution of New Designers Awards, claiming three awards: Best New Designer, Best Trendsetter and Best Catwalk. The awards ceremony of New Designers Awards was presented by two representatives of the new generation of presenters and fashion icons, Alex Kavdas and Mary Retsina.
Before the big award ceremony, last year's winner of the Best New Designer, Ioakeim Mitakos x F. Erotokritos presented its new collection, with obvious military references while within the fashion show, the brand Prince Erotokritos presented its first collection of men's suits. Elisavet Spanou, Peter Imvrios and Triantafyllos were the guest models of Prince Erotokritos fashion show.
Important representatives from the fashion world participated to the panel of the institution of New Designers Awards for one more season: Katerina Gouma, Owner and Designer of the label "Underground", Diana Grigoropoulou, Fashion Editor of Madame Figaro magazine, Despina Isopoulou, Fashion Writer and Stylist, Dimitris Dassios, outstanding Greek fashion designer, Sandy Tsantaki, journalist and blogger at www.sandytimes.gr and www.sandytsantaki.com and Makis Tselios, one of the most important Greek Fashion designers with long history in fashion.
The winners of this year's Awards are:
Best New Designer: Dimitris Ordoulidis gained the impressions with minimal creations with remarkable volume and unique coats from the collection "Gender Noise" THE UNISEX GENERATION. The prize corresponds to the possibility of the winner to see the work taking shape, creating a capsule collection for the label Underground. Mrs. Katerina Gouma, owner and designer of boutique "Underground" awarded the prize. The capsule collection which will be created by the winner of the Best New Designer will be sold in Underground boutiques and the online shop of the label, while it will be sampled to some boutiques in Greece and abroad.
Best Trendsetter: MK by Marios impressed with the special creations which were accompanied by elaborate headpieces that riveted the guests and the jury. Mrs Tonia Fouseki, Chairwoman of AXDW, presented the award, which corresponds to the free participation of the designer in a fashion week abroad, from the international network of collaborations of AXDW, promoting actively the work of the designer to new markets.
Best Catwalk: Tryfonas Modestou presented a collection full of elegance. The prize corresponds to a free scholarship at the Styling section of Veloudakis Fashion School for a semester and the award was presented by Mrs Anampella Veloudaki, Director of Veloudakis Fashion School.
Many people visited the special place of Summer Xclusive Elements, where the visitors had the opportunity to admire the fashion accessories of Greek designers and creators. Aelia by Fotini Kostouli, Aelia Greek Sandals, Extreme Living, Fishbone Design, It's All Greek On Me and My Scarf displayed their creations for the coming summer and proposed to the guests of 17th AXDW original designs and colors for sandals, hybrid sunglasses, scarves, jewelry, bags, etc.
During all the days of AXDW, the Fashion Design Project, which is the open design competition, took place that it gives the opportunity to a fashion design talent, which will be voted by the public to take part in the next New Designers Awards. During the 17th AXDW 68 sketches were submitted, which will be posted on official facebook page of AXDW in coming days, so people can vote the winner.

The de-make up care of the models of the 17th AXDW's catwalks undertook the specialized DEMAK'UP products which surprised the guests of the event. All the friends had the opportunity to enjoy the cleansing care and learn some tips by the Make Up Artist of DEMAK'UP who took care of their new make up in a special stand in the venue.
Live DJ sets and live radio broadcasts by en lefko 87.7 and Hit 88.9 gave rhythm in the international fashion week in Athens!
